From the description I thought this was a novel. It turns out to be a short fiction. I enjoyed it, it should be a novel and I would encourage the author to turn it into a novel. A young Indian woman in an arranged marriage goes to join her new family. There she discovers an aunt who is dark and mean spirited who runs the household and a brother-in-law with a dark past. She loves her husband but he is away working most of the time and he does nothing to stop the bad treatment. A great premise and just when the story took off, it ended.Product details

I should have read more carefully about the length of this. Its a short story based on a myth i gather with a touch of horror.
This was a riveting story, then it ended suddenly. I gave it 4 stars because I wish there was more to the story. It left me hanging. The details of the sad frustrating lives some women lead is so maddening. This woman found a way to survive. I would recommend this to anyone who just wants a quick read.

I guess it was my fault that I didn't check to see how short of a read this is. Had the story been stretched a bit, I think I would have enjoyed it more.
I found the details of day to day living to be fascinating, this gave me more insight to the main character about how she was dealing some difficult situations and why turning to Kali was a was a profound chioce that strengthened her spirit to break free......Cjarios
